Benefits for Producers
Cooperation and support on behalf of growers is central to the success of the Fair Food Project. Therefore, the Project offers educational information to growers in order to ensure ethical treatment of farmworkers.
Producers will be taught how to attract and maintain good workers, how changing laws affect them, how to hire without discrimination, and techniques to ensure fair food practices. Additionally, growers will receive instructions on how to follow the most recent I-9 procedures. Migrant Legal Aid will provide information on producers’ rights in immigration audits, during interactions with law enforcement, and when there is a “Courtesy Alert” that concerns workers rights.
