14th Annual Cup of Justice: June 19th-June 26th, 2020
Thank you to everyone who participated in our 14th Cup of Justice. To the players, hole sponsors, and those who bid, we are so grateful for the support!
Due to the pandemic, our golf outing was a bit different this year. Our players teed off almost every day between June 15th and June 26th.
For the 2021 Cup of Justice, please contact Mary Bennett at firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up. When you sign up, you receive a certificate that allows you to golf 18 holes at The Mines. When you check in, you receive a goodie bag that includes a certificate for a hot dog/brat chips, and a soda.
Our silent auction has moved online. Please visit here to see what we auctioned this year.
History of the Cup of Justice
Golf enthusiasts and legal professionals alike have been flocking to Migrant Legal Aid’s Cup of Justice since 2007. This annual golf fundraiser was established in order to raise awareness about our agency and projects among the local legal professionals. The event drew on other golf events, attracting people who were interested in an opportunity to golf.
Activities have included silent auctions, 50/50 raffles, a betting-hole, and competitions on many holes. An early summer’s day on the golf course with friends, family, and co-workers produces an infectious bliss, which draws the players back every year.
The Cup of Justice attracts individuals because of the activity, but it is more than just a game. It is an opportunity to gather members of the community together to raise awareness about migrant farmworker’s rights. The Cup of Justice is a successful event, because we have raised the profile of Migrant Legal Aid to new donors.
In the years to come, Migrant Legal Aid hopes to double the size of the event.
